ERC 2019 starts on 2 July

The IRF’s 13th Euro Rafting Champs starts in a few days at the familiar site on the Vrbas River just outside Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Rafting Club “Kanyon” have previously hosted the World Rafting Championship in 2009, Euro Rafting Championships in 2009 and again in 2015 at this picturesque spot between the steep walls of the Vrbas canyon.

Registration is on Tuesday, 2nd July, and training on the 3rd and 4th. A reminder to teams – don’t forget to bring passports to registration!

The racing schedule is as follows:

  • Friday 5th = Sprint from 9:00 to 10:00. H2H from 10:00 to 15:00
  • Saturday 6th = Slalom from 11:00 to 15:00
  • Sunday 7th = Downriver U19, U23 and Masters from 9:00 – 10:00. Open from 11:00 to 12:00

Some GREAT battles happening at the last buoy! Nearly all teams are skipping the top two buoys and heading to the bottom two which means we’re having some epic battles there.lease note – these are Provisional until approved by Head Judge.

We will bring you updates as quickly as we can. There is no signal of any kind in the valley as it is a remote valley within the national park which has IUCN cat II status and so a protected area. However a Wi-Fi station has been set up in the valley for media use so this will be used to get updates out. It does not reach the river bank though, so we cannot do continues updates as it happens, they will have to be done in batches.
